Dining with 3mE

To celebrate TU Delft’s 175th anniversary, the 3mE faculty’s study associations are organising so-called ‘Dining with 3mE’ evenings. Variscopic kicked things off last week and invited Jaap Harlaar, the new clinical technology programme director.

Jaap Harlaar joined students from the clinical technology bachelor programme for dinner in the Delft dormitory called Penthouse. Everyone enjoyed a three-course dinner provided by the students, who asked Jaap just about every question under the sun. ‘How did he end up at clinical technology, and what are his views of the field of clinical technology? All of these questions were answered in detail, and in addition everyone enjoyed the somewhat more informal conversations. In short, the dinner was a fun and casual way of getting to know the new programme director and sharing amusing stories and experiences with each other about their studies and life in general.

Jaap Harlaar was impressed by the delicious meal, which the students had prepared with great effort. ‘I can’t decide which course I appreciated the most. There were serious and fun discussions. But it was overwhelmingly clear that we (the students and I) share a common passion. The evening has increased my appetite to do more things together,’ says the new programme director, who is extremely enthusiastic about the initiative.

Leeghwater and Froude are next up!
